| We are Bud and Cherie Carter. We were both born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. We divide our time between Topeka and Kodiak Island. Bud has been going to Kodiak for over 20 years, Cherie, since 2007. We enjoy the simplicity of living remote...no roads...no cars...we generate our own electicity...enjoy fresh mountain stream water, and chop our own wood for heat. Some of our favorite activities are deep sea fishing, boating, kayaking, whale watching, photography, beach combing, bird watching, gardening and hiking. We had a blast building the Pastor's Cabin during the summers of 2008 and 2009. Who would have thought working 10-12 hours a day, aching head to toe, could be so much fun! When the pastors come up we enjoy just hanging out for a week of R&R, enjoying the awesome scenery and entertainment of remote Kodiak Island. If you ever wondered what the world looked like when God created it, come to Kodiak and see for yourself !! |
